On 27 February 2018, CEDEC, EDSO for Smart Grids, EURELECTRIC, GEODE and Eurogas presented the joint reports – on Electricity and Gas Flexibility – providing a holistic approach on how Distribution System Operators (DSOs) can use flexibility and contribute to the transition towards decarbonisation, and a set of solutions enabling DSOs for operating grids in a cost-efficient way. The reports offer a sound overview to policy makers on how the regulatory framework should be adapted to facilitate and reward the use of flexibility by DSOs and other stakeholders.
The reports also bring forward solutions for flexibility issues of DSOs, technologies available to get the needed flexibility services to system operators, together with alternative ways to acquire these services.
