Christoph Gatzen

Dr Christoph Gatzen is a Director in Frontier's Cologne office with more than 15 years of consulting
experience in the European energy sector. He is an expert in electricity, gas and fuel markets and regularly
works for major energy companies, energy consumers, network operators, storage operators, regulators,
investment companies and government authorities.
Christoph regularly works on energy markets across Europe, with a focus on Germany, Austria,
Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Iceland and Spain. His work covers all aspects of decarbonisation
strategies, energy market modelling, regulation, competition and due diligence in transactions.
Prior to joining Frontier in 2007, Christoph worked as a consultant and researcher at the Institute of Energy
Economics in Cologne for 5 years. Christoph holds a PhD in Energy Economics from the University of
Cologne, a degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering and a degree in Industrial Engineering from RWTH.
